POOF! And just like that we go from spooky skeletons and dancing zombies to falling leaves and chubby turkeys. While I love all things Halloween, I can’t say that I mind one bit this year. This is our third, and last, fall here in Europe and it is currently stunning outside. Everywhere we look we are surrounded by leaves of every color and I’m trying to soak up every moment while we can. Which brings to me this weeks cookie project, easy leaf cookies!
Sometimes you just need something classic and simple, like I did this week! I was asked to make cookies as a reward for some super readers in one of the
I love this design because it’s perfect for begins, filler cookies, or when you need something quick. I iced, airbrushed, and photographed 4 dozen of these little cuties in 2 hours. All hail the easy cookie! Speaking of airbrushing, to give each easy leaf cookie dimension I airbrushed one side with a quick DIY stencil I cut with my silhouette. Though you could cut one from just about anything, you just need a slight curve. No airbrush? Here’s the great part, this effect could be done even with a can of premade treat color. Step 1: Outline and flood cookie, add a few sprinkles if you would like – I avoid the center where I know I will be piping the vien. Let dry for several hours.
Step 2: Use a curved stencil to airbrush the same color onto one half of the cookie.
Step 3: Add center vein with the same outline icing, add a few additional sprinkles. Tada! All done.
Wasn’t that some easy leaf cookies? Yet so cute! You better believe you will be seeing them again soon in more sets.
