Mardi Gras Cupcakes With Sweets & Treats

I know I say this a lot, but I’m really excited about today’s post, some fun, and festive Mardi Gras Cupcakes! Those of you that have been around for some time know that I am a long time fan of Sweets & Treats. Literally could not have completed my cupcake book, Cupcakery, without them! I love them so much I’ve even teamed up with them to create sweets with their colorful baking products all year long.

Mardi Gras Cupcakes

Again, you probably already know this. But did you know Sweets & Treats are from the heart of Lousianna? Yep, founded just outside of New Orleans known for it’s incredible Mardi Gras celebrations. As a matter of fact, it’s such a big deal to them they get an entire week off school! Never having experienced a true Mardi Gras myself, or even really knowing why it’s celebrated I was intrigued! So this year I decided I wanted to spend a little more time getting to know this unique celebration which could only start in one place, Mardi Gras cupcakes! I took the traditional kings cake and my signature frosting swirl and turned them into a mardi gras cupcakes version. I love how they turned out! If you guys want to see just how I made them, click on over to the Sweets & Treats blog to see the feature! And grab a few packs of their King Cake Sprinkle mix, because nobody knows Mardi Gras like Sweets and Treats!
