Since you guys have grown to love my obsession, I didn’t want to disappoint you with a lack of candy corn cutter designs this Christmas. So I pulled out my iPad and before you know it…I had 24 Christmas designs sketched. Don’t worry I only chose a few to share, starting today! Say hello to these cute little Santa cookies along with the wifey made from a simple candy corn cutter.

How holly + jolly are these guys?! For the Santas, I opted to keep him youthful and sweet by skipping on the traditional mustache. I honestly love how he came out! For the Mrs. Claus cookies, I spruced her up with a little red headband and a classic high bun but skipped the traditional glasses. Isn’t she so sweet? Before we get to the tutorial I should probably tell you, I also made one more member to this candy corn Christmas crew but you’ll have to wait until the next post to see who. Any guesses?

The steps for both cookies are pretty similiar as you can see in the photos above. For simplicity I’ve keep both designs in the same instructions below, I’ll note where they vary.

Step 1: For both Santa and Mrs. Claus Use printable template/projector image to trace the face to hair/hat lines onto cookies using an edible marker.

Step 2: Outline and flood the face using skin tone outline + flood icing. Immediately place two small dots of pink flood icing for cheeks. (I love to use my projector to project the template image right onto the icing, this keeps everything consistent) Use the tweezers to place a black sugar pearl for the eyes. To prevent bleeding, place cookies in front of a fan to dry immediately until the icing has crusted over. Without this step, you may risk the black pearl bleeding.

Once the face has crusted over, or dried completely, it is safe to move on to the next step.

Step 3: For Santa, using white then red outline + flood icings, outline and flood his beard and top of his hat. For Mrs. Clause use light grey outline + flood icing to complete the main portion of her hair.

Step 4: For Santa fill use white outline + flood icing to fill in his hat fur and ball. Top with white sprinkles for texture. For Mrs. Claus outline and flood her headband with red icing, finish we a few sprinkles if you would like. Once her headband is sprinkled, you can outline and flood her bun.

Step 5: Once all previous steps have crusted over it’s time for final details! Add ears and nose (skin tone flood icing), hair details (white/grey outline + tip #1.5, mouths (pink outline + tip #1.5), and little holly details (green outline icing + small leaf tip + red pearl sprinkles).

And that’s how easy it is to make these super simple santa cookies from a candy corn cutter. Don’t forget to tag me @thesprinklefactory or #teamsprinkle so I can see you cute creations.
